Bjorn Bear from Night Owl Quilting

Reneta used the blocks from Elizabeth Hartman's Bjorn Bear quilt pattern to build this sweet baby quilt.

Reneta chose the Lilac pantograph and I think it was a great choice with the pink background fabric.

Reneta found the perfect alphabet print in her stash that made a really cute backing.

Val made this lovely "Keynotes" quilts.  Val began making quilts for all her siblings for their 65th birthdays and this is the final one.

Val chose the Lilac pantograph for a pretty finish.  We used a shiny Magnifico thread to complement the metallic elements in all of the fabrics.

Galaxy from Night Owl Quilting

This stunner was was made by Karen as an anniversary gift for her daughter and son-in-law.  The pattern is called Galaxy from Studio 180 Designs.

Karen used a gorgeous batik palette and the print on the border fabric help to influence her choice of the Lilac pantograph.

Karen always adds little extra touches to her quilts.  This little detail on the border corners is one example.

The other really cool feature is that Karen made this quilt to be reversible.  She added a row of blocks to that back that look like a bed runner.  So smart!

Mary's Yellow Brick Road from Night Owl Quilting

This Yellow Brick Road quilt was made by Mary.  The fabric collection was a gift from her son.

Mary selected this Lilac pantogrpah and a taupe/brown thread that blended nicely with the front and the back.

Fireside backings have become very popular and sure do show off the quilting nicely.

Aperiodic from Night Owl Quilting

This beauty is a new pattern from Prairie and Ocean that is being released tomorrow.  This quilt was made my Marlene who is mom and alpha pattern tester to Janice.

Janice is a scientist by profession and her quilts are definitely born in her scientific brain.  This pattern is called Aperiodic and is based on the Ammann-Beenker tiling. (Look it up on Wikipedia if you are interested to learn more.)

I love the rich colour palette Marlene chose and the print inspired the pantograph choice of Lilac.  I thought at first the flowers might be too big, but I love ...

Sonja’s Windows from Night Owl Quilting

This lovely scrappy quilt is from a pattern called Sonja's Windows.  It was started by a family member of Mary's.  Mary completed it and brought it to me for quilting so that it could be given as a wedding gift.  Isn't that just wonderful?

Mary selected the Lilac pantograph and a medium blue thread for the quilting.  The overall look in just so pleasing.

Diane's Favorite Fabric Quilt from Night Owl Quilting

Have you ever loved a fabric so much that you designed a whole quilt around showcasing it?  That is exactly what Diane did.    This flower and butterfly print called to her and she came up with a lovely way to highlight it,

Diane chose the blue Crackle wide backing that I had on hand and asked me to pick a floral pantograph.  I thought the Lilac pantograph complimented the top very nicely.

Minimal Triangles from Night Owl Quilting

This lovely quilt was made by Kristine.  The pattern is called Minimal Triangles by Simple Simon and Company.  You can find a free tutorial here.  The pattern uses a layer cake or 10" square pack for both the focus fabric and the background and makes a generous sized quilt.

Kristine made this quilt for one of her daughters, and let her be in charge of picking the pantograph.  I think her choice of the Lilac pantograph is just perfect, and it looks fabulous on the cuddle backing.

Pink Batiks and a Pretty Christmas Throw from Night Owl Quilting

Sherry sent this lovely pink themed batik quilt.  She told me she just cut some squares and rectangles from her stash and arranged them until she was happy. Sherry is stash busting and decided to tackle the pink pile this time.  Simple and lovely!

Sherry selected the Lilac pantograph that is becoming a  favorite around here.

Next up is a lovely Christmas quilt made by Dianne. She left the pantogaph selection up to me, and I added the "Windswept" pantograph.  Sometimes I see wind and sometimes I see ribbons.

Charming Additions from Night Owl Quilting

Val made this lovely quilt entirely from her stash.  She has been on a stash busting roll lately as you can see by her other recent finish.  The pattern is called Charming Additions and was published in the December 2012 edition of American Patchwork and Qulting Magazine.

Val selected the Lilac pantograph which is fast becoming a customer favorite around here.  She also selected a grey Stonehenge wide back from my collection, so I decided to use a grey thread for the quilting.  I probably could have selected just about any colour, as I think they are all included in ...

Vanda's Plan B Quilt from Night Owl Quilting

Vanda came up with the quilt layout not by choice but out of necessity.  These fabrics were purchased as a kit a few years back to make one of the Maple Island BQ quilts, but there wasn't enough fabric in the kit to keep the directional black and white fabric all going in the same direction.  Vanda knew that would bother her, so time for plan B.

It took us awhile to settle on a pantograph.  I was surprised how much we both liked the Lilac pantograph.  The flowers on flowers seemed to play nice and not add more ...

Growing Up Odd II from Night Owl Quilting

Do you love scrap quilts?  I don't usually have the urge to make a scrap quilt, but this pattern does draw me in.  This is the second "Growing Up Odd" quilt that Reneta has made.  You can see the first one here.  There is a free tutorial for this pattern from the Wedding Dress Blue blog

Reneta selected the "Lilac"  pantograph this time around.  This is a newer pantograph in my collection and I am really liking the look it provides.

And nothing like a shot of the full quilt to realize just how much sewing and pressing was ...
